Hunter Theatre Arts (HTA) is a thriving dance and theatre school in Guidepost in Northumberland.

About the School and Principal - Miss Barbara

HTA is ran by principal Barbara Hunter.  Miss Barbara holds teaching qualifications in all theatre subjects with the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association (NCDTA), United Kingdom Alliance (UKA)  and Classical Ballet with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and is also a qualified cheerleading coach and one of only a handful of M2 Acrobatic Arts certified coaches currently in the UK.

Barbara started her professional career at the tender age of 5 appearing in her first professional production and went on to appear in many pantomimes, roadshows and musicals such as Joseph and Evita.  Barbara has worked all over the world and has been lucky enough to work in some of the biggest shows in Europe and the Far East as well as working on some of the largest cruise ships in the world.  Barbara has had the privilege of dancing in front of the Head's of State of China, Pakistan and Portugal.  She decided to bring together her love of teaching and vast performing experience to open HTA in 2006.

Since its opening the school has gone from strength to strength.  HTA prides its self on its friendly, caring atmosphere and delivery of sound, safe, technical training.  Training provided by professional qualified dance teachers.  Past pupils have gone on to further training in London schools, such as Urdang Academy, Wilkes Academy, Bird College and Performers.

All HTA staff hold current Enhanced Disclosures and First Aid Certificates.  Find out more about the HTA teachers.
