Read what our parents have to say:
My daughters have danced at Hunter Theatre Arts for 10 years now. My eldest has gone on to study professional dance in London and my youngest is still loving life being part of the HTA family. The standard of teaching at HTA is exceptional, the teachers really care about the children and it shows. The children are happy and work hard whilst loving what they do. We moved out of the area 8 years ago and still travel back to HTA for training as it’s simply the best place for my girls. The school is very inclusive and every child regardless of ability or standard is given the chance to perform in a professional stage in the annual show. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the school if your child is looking to dance.

My daughter and i absolutely love her dance school. Amelia joined HTA over 6 years ago when she attended baby ballet, and we felt welcomed like part of a family. The teachers are not only talented but genuinely care about helping each student grow, whether you’re a total beginner or have been dancing for years.
The atmosphere is fun, encouraging, and full of laughter, and every class leaves my daughter smiling. The studio itself feels bright and lively, and there’s always a sense of community both on and off the dance floor.
From the moment you step into the studio, there’s an energy that makes you want to move. The teachers don’t just teach steps—they share their love for dance in a way that’s contagious.
I have watched Amelia grow in confidence and talent and made wonderful friends along the way.
HTA is a dance family x

HTA is an amazing inclusive dance school, that provides a home away from home. The pupils are inspired and encouraged to believe in themselves, and they can make anything possible. The training and care provided from the teachers is exceptional. The pupils are lucky that they have such positive influences and role models as teachers.
On a personal level it has been lovely to watch both my girls confidence grow. The friendships and memories made, I know will last a lifetime.

My daughter’s happy place!
My daughter has been dancing with Hunter Theatre Arts since the age of 2 and she’s now 16. Thanks to the training, support and encouragement from the amazing teachers she’s now achieved a place at dance college. They not only teach dance but resilience, passion and determination! An excellent school.

Couldn’t rate HTA and its teachers and students more highly. It has been my daughters’ second home for the past 12 years. The skills they have developed go way beyond dance and they have made friends for life. The experiences and opportunities they have had at HTA have lead to them both wanting to pursue careers in performing arts.

My 2 daughters both go to HTA and I can honestly say it's their happy place. My eldest has been there around 3 years. We first started it to gain confidence which she certainly has but what else she has gained is truly the best, another family! From the peers to teachers and even other parents everyone is involved helping, supporting and nurturing all students.
My youngest in baby ballet has been dancing for around a year and again every member and staff, dancer and parent engage with her, play with her and make us as a family feel so welcome.
It's not just a dance class, it's our dance family with the support and kindness from everyone!

Hunter theatre arts has been a life saver for me, since the passing of her grandad, nearly 3 year ago she has found it very hard to be herself, and would hide away from everybody she’s loves singing and dancing, drama, since she started she has most definitely come out of her shell, hunter theatre arts is like a family, thank you for everything yous have done for her, I can’t thank yous enough

Hunter Theatre Arts has truly been a blessing for my daughter and our family. Over the last 3 years, I have watched her not only develop as a dancer but also grow in confidence and happiness thanks to the incredible support she has received.
What makes this school so special isn’t just the exceptional standard of tuition, but the teachers themselves. They are kind, compassionate, and genuinely care about every single child. My daughter suffers with anxiety, which can sometimes make her feel unwell or overwhelmed, especially in busy situations. The teachers recognised this straight away and went out of their way to find ways to make her feel comfortable and supported. Their patience and willingness to adapt to her individual needs has been incredible. Because of them, she has been able to continue doing what she loves, and I’ve seen her flourish into a more confident and resilient young person.
Hunter Theatre Arts is more than a dance school—it is a community where students, teachers, and parents all support one another. I honestly couldn’t imagine sending my daughter anywhere else. We feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful family.

My daughter came to HTA 6 years ago and what an amazing dance school it has been for her the teachers are so supportive no matter the ability as every dancer has there own strengths but they have never given up on any dancer and they teach them to the best they can be and for that I’m so thankful to each and every teacher at HTA for helping my daughter be the dancer she is through all the ups and downs❤️

Hunter theatre arts is more than a fabulous dance school. It has been my girls’ second home (and mine) for the last 14 years and the standard of teaching is second to none. The love, pride, determination and dedication that all the teachers put into every single student is phenomenal. My girls would not be where they are, or even who they are (strong, resilient, respectful, team players, talented) without this amazing school. I would not hesitate to recommend this dance school to anyone and everyone, regardless of age or ability xx
Ashleigh Mum to Regan and Fallon
We feel incredibly lucky to be part of Hunter Theatre Arts. It’s so much more than just a place to dance, it’s a warm, welcoming community that truly feels like family. From the dancers to the teachers and even the parents, there’s such a strong sense of support, encouragement, and belonging.
The staff are not only extremely talented and professional, but they genuinely care about each child’s development, both as dancers and as individuals. Our daughter, Izzy, has grown so much in her technique, confidence, and passion since joining the school just over a year ago. She absolutely loves every moment she spends at the studio and has a wonderful friendship with all of her teachers who she looks up to so much.
What really sets Hunter Theatre Arts apart is the incredible family atmosphere. The children all support each other, the teachers know every student personally, and families are always made to feel involved and valued. It’s a joy just walking through the doors and feeling that warm, inclusive energy.
On top of that, Izzy has had some truly amazing opportunities like performing on a cruise ship! These experiences have been unforgettable and have helped her create memories, friendships, and confidence that will stay with her forever.
Thank you to everyone at Hunter Theatre Arts for creating such a positive, inspiring, and nurturing environment. We can’t imagine a better place for Izzy to grow, both as a dancer and a young person and we can’t wait to see what she does next with you all guiding her!

Hunter Theatre Arts, HTA to those in the know, offers a nurturing, professional and fun dancing experience. My little girl has learnt so much more than "how to dance" since she started at HTA. She's grown in so much confidence and loves every minute of her classes. The highlight for us 'mums' is definitely the annual show. First taste of professional venues and production! The best start for any little aspiring ballerina!!! Lisa Murray
My daughter has danced at HTA for over 6 years. During this time she has performed at the annual shows, most recently at Newcastle City Hall, competed in numerous competitions and took annual exams in ballet, tap and modern. The standard of teaching at the school and desire to get the best out of every pupil (whatever the best maybe) is apparent in every aspect of the school. Miss Barbara is passionate about dance and gives every child, regardless of their ability, the opportunity to shine. I would not take my daughter to any other dance school, HTA is the only school I know that puts dance before financial gain. (Kaye Scott, mam to Keira aged 9)
